Week 1 Reflection
In week 1 we went over the course outline and activated the platforms we would be using this semester such as mattermost and the WordPress blog. Setting up the WordPress blog was challenging for me. I thought I had done it correctly but when Mike showed the class what it was supposed to look like mine looked different. At the end of the zoom call I stayed on to ask him how to edit it to be correct he was unsure at the time but reached out to me after class to help me fix the problem. I don’t actually know what had gone wrong but Mikes instructions were to have me set up my blog again which this time worked thankfully. Now that my blog was set up I thought I was all good to go but I had thought wrong. Turns out I had added the incorrect template meaning again my blog would not show up the way it was supposed to. Third times a charm is what they say so I added another site to my blog with the correct template and finally my blog was activated. After all of the changes I needed some time off screens so the next step of my blog which was the about me was going to have to wait for another day. This day felt frustrating to me as this blog platform was not one I was familiar with or had used before but I was thankful that Mike was so helpful and responsive to his emails to help me get it all activated.
